Pros

Grilled pineapple and onion salsa. A recipe pet peeve of adding garlic at the same time as onion during the cooking process. The ingredients are things that people typically have on hand which is another plus.

Bittman is quite knowledgable. He dispenses the information very clearly.

This cookbook covers the ground of every other vegetarian cookbook.

Cons

But from the first, i was sorely dissappointed. Many of the recipes sound good, that's why i bought it, but they all need heavy tweaking to even be palatable.

How about that it's also healthier? Also- no pictures.

Something is very wrong with the adaption of this book for kindle. This book is definitely not for a kindle. I have another book of bittman's and it is not useful either.

So i ordered this vegetarian cookbook and i am just as pleased

To be fair bittman himself often provides suggestions for additions within the recipe and allows a bit of latitude with the methods
