Pros

I'm a gadget freak and this was the first christmas present i'd asked for from my parents since i was a kid. The houdini itself is fluid and extremely efficient. With this device it is as easy as cutting through soft butter.

The houdini opens wine bottles in a couple seconds. It also has a nifty way of getting the cork off just as quickly. It removes the c cork from the corkscrew for you.

Everybody needs a corkscrew, this one is top notch. This one is awesome! Delivered on time. Package was sealed.

Cons

It's nearly impossible to get a cork out of a bottle. The cutter/coil/spiral is out of the cork. Defeats the purpose of this opener.

This one is entirely plastic, and is so lightweight and flimsy it makes the mechanism not work right. The top handle is all plastic except for the last 2 inches and snaps off after a couple hundred uses. Because the handles separate when lying on it's... Read More

My discontent comes not only from its appearance online not measuring up to actual performance in life, but also from the general imprecision and loosely put together manufacturing. The corkscrew is flimsy. It's now flimsy and floppy.

Packaging/appearance

The corkscrew works well but the packaging was very poor

Clamp the houdini onto the top of the bottle lift the lever slides into the cork like butter then pull it down to pull out the cork
