Pros
I love this sweeper but it started to poop out. Thanks to amazon, a new belt, and a new roller brush, my sweeper seems brand new again! It’s like a new vacuum.
Performance is great and hope it lasts 14 years like the last one did. It's like a new hoover but for a lot less money.
Cons
The original brush has a deep groove for the grooved belt and the new brush does not. The roller received is round wood without the flutes like the original plastic roller. Did not fit. The correct one is available from amazon https://www.

The stalk looks like its made out of wood has a wood grain but im guessing that pattern was from the mold it was cast in

Ill try to do better keeping hair and carpet fibers out of the end caps on this one thats what killed the original

The black roller brush we received is black painted wood not plastic as some reviewers observed

The 15 measure is the outside dimension of the roller brush head width so the roller brush is 14 and therefore hoover part no 48414115 for the 15 agitator brush roll listed in the instruction manual for hoover model u5454900 upright vacuum cleaner
