This was not the case my son plays with the ball weekly and the ball tread is holding up

You could try to show your child yourself but with the pictures one the ball he learned quickly

I have used it with my 5th 7th graders even though its too small

I originally bought it for my 6 yr old but it works pretty good for the older kids several who are pretty small
