My problem is that the description on amazon said it could be used for side by side hanging files but to do so required brackets that cost 50

It is more expensive than some of the other cabinets that you can find listed but you are getting solid quality for your money

If you prefer to have your files face forward rather than sideways note that the interior of the drawers is only 33 wide which means you can only fit two rows of letter sized files side by side theres a good gap between where you can stick binders and other things but not hang files

We thought the top drawer was defective but finally realized that you cant have the bottom drawer and the top drawer fully open at the same time
