The potato got caught and had to be readjusted a few times and as the slices piled up in the collection bin they began flying about a foot from the slicer landing on my work top

The safety plastic part that holds your food product once it it too small for your fingers does a great job of slicing nearly all of the product and the small piece left upon the safety spikes is barely considered waste
