I dont know if i got a defective one or not but it definitely doesnt fit all the way to the edge like pictured in the photo but when you lay down it stretches out to the edges

However these protectors even though be bought the ones that were most cottonlike still have some plastic in them

I tried putting several layers of flannel sheets and mattress pads between me and the protectors without any success

The underside of the cuddlebed does in fact have that awful fake flimsy cotton candytype nylon material that is under most mattress pads that melts and balls up after the first time you forget to turn the temp down on the dryer
