I mounted the camera right next to the mirror power enclosure so did not need the full 1 meter length of the cable

The cigarette adapter power points in the 2015 gmc sierra stay on all the time so using the power solution that came with the camera would have been really inconvenient

The only issue i found is that the garmin dash cam will say that the unit will not charge with the cable when the cam powers up

Unfortunately when i went to unplug it from my dash cam for the first time the usb connector disconnects from the cable see pics
