Xbox must have the same dvd drive in each model and the motherboard and the control board on each dvd player have a model number onit digitally that matches upthat is why even though its a new dvd player you must switch it with the original one with the xbox 360

Once you get in the 360 its like a computer and you just remove two simple cords and then you simply remove no more than 8 screws and the control board is off

Trust me this is not anything but replacing a cd drive in a computer just a little extra work because of the control board this is easy

Because xbox components are keyed to the console one must salvage the main circuit board from the original drive and install it in the replacementthe board is what gives the drive its identity of course the replacement drive must be the same makemodel as the original

The board itself is simply clipped in place
