Firstly i would advise making sure that the usb port in your car can support 5v 2a this is what is required to have full functionality from the charging side of the functions

If it is below the above mentioned spec then you may find intermittent or no functionality at all

In my case i tested the charger and it didnt charge at all it keeps trying to initiate wireless charing but then drops and then trys again constantly dropping i tested this with 2 phones with and without cases the same issue remained
