The easy to use 3star rating is only because ferric chloride itself is not that easy to use

You have to be careful in the way you mix it with water the ferric chloride must be added in small batches to the water not the other way round the solution does get hot it is highly corrosive eye and skin protection is well advised and it will stain anything it comes in contact with

I carefully mixed the 500gm of ferric chloride with about 1 pint of distilled water to create a concentrated solution

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Of course it would have been quicker if the working solution had been at a higher temperature

I will but this product again

Ive noticed other comments about a lack of directions for how to mix it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I looked it up on the internet and the guideline i found was a 11 ratio of distilled water to powder to make a 34concentrate34 then depending on ones use for it dilute it accordingly

In my case i used it for etching damascus steel and recommendations seemed to be a 13 or 14 ratio of concentrate to water
