One of the variations that i mentioned in my headline is that the chairstool back is not exactly as pictured in the manufacturers stock photo if you look at the top bar that runs horizontally from one corner to the other

Those vertical bars do have the ballends but the actual chairstool there are no ballends on the horizontal top bar it just stops with a flat end

The second variation is in the assembly the two sparta stools i received were manufactured at different times but by the same manufacturer in china

The assembly instructions changed a little one is dated 13118 2 sizes of allen screws the other is dated 332017 3 sizes of allen screws

It is stated as a vanity chair instead of a desk chair so i dont blame them

I had to maneuver the legs and the cross brace quite a bit in order to put them all together
