These are small and easy to cover if your landlord is being a *. The mounting things have these sharp hooks that you hammer into the wall and that's what keeps the shelf up.

The lamp is 8-11 lbs per the description, and the shelf has held up great. Bought 4 and looking fwd on buying more.
