The he1000's are breathtakingly beautiful, well made, prestigious, and awesome sounding. Beautifully crafted albeit delicate but sonically outstanding. Some people associate its lightness to feeling brittle or cheap and that is not the case.

Does not get sibilant but has tons of air and detail. The nanometer scale diaphragm is as transparent as it gets. One of the reason, i bought this headphone is for its nano technology.

The connect socket inside the earpiece is plain junk. They have a soft attack that may dull your senses. Don't besmirch that possibility.

Sound quality is outstanding but i was having an reproducible intermittent issue with the left channel going out

Looking back i downgraded my rating from 5 to 3 stars not only because of the quality control issue but because the sound lacked body

Price

If the he400is cost 20000 the experts would be raving about how much better they sound than the lowly 3000 he1000s

Remember in the audio industry price is rarely proportional to sound quality

To start off i sold my car for these headphones i got free shipping because the 2 day shipping was way too expensive

Clarity these are the second clearest headphones ive ever heard next to the hd800s

The sound stage is miles better then many of your 150 cans certainly closed types like the traditional audiotechnica etc
