Ive used the black ones of quite a while and was happy with the quality but the last time i ordered a black cartridge for my brother hl3170 cdw printer what was stated on the box was not what was in the box and since it was 6 months ago im not sure they will take it back

So if you print x number of pages even with only a single dot of color on it the printer will count that as a page printed in that color

Here is how to fix this open the top of the printer then simultaneously press the secure and x cancel buttons

Each color should have three options which i believe allow you to tell the machine what type of new toner cartridge is installed

Once youve selected the cartridge you want to tell it youre installing hit the ok button and will get an ok reset cancel type screen

Replace your toner cartridges need to be replaced not when it tells you to
