My solution has been to only use the 1st 2 lower settings unless i need the higher one enough to be willing to climb behind the cabinet to unplug it

As far as the dimmer it works great on the two lowest settings which are very usable for me but sometimes when i put them on the high setting they get stuck on high and wont turn off until i unplug them in my cabinet with the three lights this happens sporadically but in my cabinet with 2 it is a constant problem
