We tried using my sisters prong collar that she had for her dog but the links were huge and it didn’t have a plate on it and my husky didn’t respond to it at all and it was a cheap prong not to mention you had to slip it over your dogs head risking hurting their eyes and you needed a pair of pliers to get the links on and off

I don’t recommend this product if it’s the first time you’re introducing your dog to a prong unless your dog doesn’t pull that much on leash

The buckle seems well made and it doesn’t come apart at all from the first time i’ve walked my husky with it

She has good recall so even if for some reason it did come apart she wouldn’t leave my sight however not everyone’s dogs have good recall so i’d definitely make sure the prong is clipped to a regular collar so if it unclips your dog won’t be able to run off
