If it was made heavier it might not function well with the small exhaust fan
Just make sure to leave enough extra give that it doesnt interfere with the flap opening when the fan comes on

I used a razor to cut around the dicor sealant of the vent duct and carefully flipped it up making sure not to damage the seal or the duct
They did send me a replacement right away and sent it in better packaging that time
I was surprized the pins on the ends didnt get broken in transit

After i smoothed out the mold lines from the tabs that hold it in place that let it swing it worked
