Previously i ordered a heavy duty chair which touted their solid metal base however after 20 months one of the mounts holding the wheel in broke looking at it it was barely held in by two very small welds

One thing i discovered was that this base is much flatter than the one that came with my chair so the gas spring is about 14 from rubbing against my carpet

I use this on some dense carpet so its no issue but if you have something more plush and you have a longer gas spring then you may bottom out

But not this guy i literally tried to break it by jumping on it when it came in just to make sure the manufacturers werent full of crap

The back of the chair is where the stem goes so the actual seat of the chair sits forward several inches meaning the center of gravity is forward from the middle
