Sarno articulates the basics of the origin of chronic pain clearly and understandably. Tms counselors and tms coaches that follow in his footsteps.
I was bedridden for months, with severe sciatica, i was diagnosed with two herniated discs (l4-l5 and l5-s1) as well as facet joint degeneration. Not only did my back pain disappear but my shoulder pain that i’ve had for over 20 years was also gone!
The mind affects the body affects the mind. This book captures his thinking about * pains and their relationship perfectly.
The key is to believe it and implement the strategies with confidence. Lift heavy grocery bags no pain.
Journal on the pain, keep re-reading the book and restart physical activity. Any time i feel the slightest tinge of pain, i just follow the books instructions and it disappears again.
Cons
The book claims that stress can cause back and neck pain. The author claims that the only way to heal your back pain is not to have surgery.
