I selected this particular brand version of adapter because of the color coding and headphonemicrophone picture on the adapter itself

We went to the business communications softphone at work and the softphone headset worked fine but was not a quiet headphone and allowed tons of surrounding noise

This works great with my bose noisecanceling earbuds but it will not work with my iphone5 earbuds i get a constant highpitched ticking sound

I think there can always be potential compatibility issues between the computer sound system hardware and software and the specific earbuds so i cant blame the adapter
