There’s several measures on the market and the price for the name brand ones was just high enough that i couldn’t warrant buying one while my tape measure still works and the off brand ones weren’t cheap enough for me to risk buying a faulty product

I tried to feed the lanyard through on the unit but was unable due to the construction of the recessed lanyard attachment location closer inspection revealed it wasn’t “bowled” to facilitate easy threading underneath the beam so when you feed it in it just kind of sticks in the pocket

Neither of these “issues” warrant the loss of a star in my opinion but should be considered by the manufacturer for future revisions of the product

There are varying beep patterns that you quickly learn to tell you which function is active

I quickly learned that as a long zoom camera lens it is important to rest unit on a stable surface btw which can be either top or bottom or it shakes and keeps beeping that there is no accurate reading

Without a laser distance measurement device the solution is to have someone climb up the tower with a tape measure
