Projector was ok for photos video clips at close range however it does not play powerpoint

May be ok for dvds at about 5 feet

The sound continues to come out of the speaker with a distorted clippinglike sound

In audio engineering terms it sounds as if there is a noise gate on the signal with zero attackrelease time and the threshold is allowing only the loudest of transients through

I bought the projector with the intent of playing back content from a memory card and therefore the audio out of the projector is my only option for getting sound to an external speaker
