Pros & Cons
Pros
The new unit is fast — actual usb 3. Since i use this for backing up my files it's not critical, but it is important that it works reliably. If you want to duplicate a drive to be exact you can put it in the 1st slot and then put another drive same si... Read More
Worked great. Booted it right up 0 issues. It seems to work best if i power up the unit and let it boot.
It is easier to swap drives as opposed to the several external drive enclosures i have used in the past. It reduces the clutter of external drives and usb connections on my desk. The convenience really justifies the small cost. It makes a great place ... Read More
Only 3gb left of space. Two 2 terabyte drives and the 1 terabyte drive that came with the unit now is ssd drive. Worked easily out of the box on my linux server with two 10gb drives.
Cons
The dock is not compatible with m1/m2 macs. The instructions for the offline cloning are incorrect. The disk manager reports drives no longer ntfs listed as raw? Only works if the target is larger than the source.
Highlights
Quality
I did not encounter any issues with the clone disk
Excellent product bought two of them and not regretting it
The included instructions with the unit arent quite literate
The clone works fine but windows’ so called security makes it a much harder than it should be
Price
This was a low cost solution that supports usb 3
Shipping
Great seller product is just as described easy to use shipping was very fast
Packaging/appearance
I also used this same aomei software to formatenable all of the remaining unused space on the 4tb into one massive 34c34 drive
I plugged the failing drive and a new ssd drive into the wavlink and set it to clone
I have two 6tb western digital drives sitting in the wavlink as i type this
Competitiveness
534 internal laptop drive to another samsung 1tb 2
I copied a 99 full samsung 256gb 2
If you duplicate from 512gb to 1tb the target drive will only use 512gb
Also it took a looooong time to clone an old 5400 disk
