It is true that it is a great one out there. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.
This cooker works perfectly and makes fabulous grains and beans and porridge. Great for chili and deep-browned beans. Comes with instruction book and recipe book.
After you put the steam vent on the vent pipe, it takes about 5 minutes for the pressure to reach 15 psi. The only draw back of this particular model is that you can not plunge it into cold water when cooking is over.
Cons
I have usef hawkins for 5 yrs but this one seems duplicate and amazon should stop this distributor from selling duplicate pressure cookers as it is risky if it explodes. And hence entire cooker is useless.
It leaks through the valve on top. Only the base is stainless steel.

Start timing the cooking and adjust heat down to halfway or a little lower so that you get about 3 hisses per minute
Either the cooker is faulty or ur putting too much liquid for it to overflow while cooking

I received this as a gift i tried to register the product but the registration process was only good in india
Packaging/appearance
Since the package was wet and the hawkins pressure cookery booklet was wet and damaged i would like to get another pressure cookery booklet
Competitiveness
It was actually less effort than some of the other pressure cookers ive owned
Also the cooking time is faster compare to normally cooker that released the pressure all the time

Making sure the lid is centered on the pot so that steam wont escape around the edge of the lid
