This cooker is perfect for 1 cup of rice that has been properly rinsed. The food can be cooked with the help of very little oil. The cookbook has india-type recipes, but it is hard to get the spices in a small town.
The instructions are simple.

By basically making the lid larger than the hole oval it is pretty hard for excessive pressure to blow off the lid something that must have been a problem for pressure cookers in the early days or with older heating methods

If your heat is hard to control like it would be over a wood or other kind of fire this guy just simmers along and then goes off every minute or so with a pressure release blast
