As the rings come from the factory the stop pin is pointed like a pencil tip

This makes no sense to me other than the manufacturer trying to allow for a greater number of stop holes being accessed with the tapered tip otherwise a pointed stop pin makes for a lousy stop pin

I encourage everyone to measure the fit of the pin in your rifles stop hold hole and file grind that point off as it is really useless
