I could still see the garbled and snowy image but the pvr would stop and start recording whenever the vcr signal hiccuped

The recording would continue after a moment but this resulted in parts of the recording being absent and sometimes the framerate of the final video getting screwed up

At first i thought i would need a different vcr to work with the pvr

However this can all easily be avoided if you run the vcr into another device and connect the second device to the pvr instead
