This is a traditional length trench coat so it doesnt stop midthigh see the photo

I have experimented with buttoning the coat all the way up and it works just as i would expect it to the one lapel fastens at the same button as the gun storm flap and the other lapel fastens at a button beneath the collar

And as another reviewer pointed out it is slightly darker in color than the photograph so it looks like a proper trench coat
