I took the cotter pin off and threw it away

They dont tell you how to remove the cotter pins you do have to look for it at the back of the pan

It can leak quite a bit out of the back steam hole if you dont first lean the pan up handle end down steam hole end up and shake it around to get the condensation off the tip of the pan before flipping it

Not very induction ready you need an induction plate under it
