Pros

The only negative about this keyboard is the location of the backspace key. Especially that backspace. It's not for everyone especially if you need the function keys and numberpad often (i find that lack of arrow keys is not much of problem even when ...  Read More

There is nothing better for a pure typist, and it's scary how fast you can get going. They aren't quite as clacky as i'd actually like them and i find that i might type a bit slower than usual but much more constant.

The keycaps are pbt, but there aren't any really fancy materials on display. The touch feeling of the caps (pbt) is very different with abs caps.

The keyboard is louder but feels much better without them. It has just enough click clack in conjunction with the feedback to be pleasing. The sound is less chattery on the upstroke, and it just feels amazing now.

I suspect it will last a good number of years even with me dropping crumbs and spilling things on and around it. I have loaned the keyboard out to a few of my coworkers for a week or two at a time and without fail, my coworkers curse my name and then ...  Read More

Quality

I like that its very light which does take away the quality factor in terms of its stability but they could have added a rubber...  Read More

It took me a long time to decide which mechanical keyboard to purchase and i am glad i went with the hhkb

Price

I know the price is a bit high but the size weight and typing experience are nearly impossible to beat

Packaging/appearance

With the programmability i added a second fn key on the left side and used one of the spare blue keys in the keycap set for that

Yes this one has rubber domes but you dont have to bottom these out to generate a keystroke on the screen

Competitiveness

Had it for a week so far but would definitely consider buying a type s or a realforce in the future if i was looking for a different layout

It actually now feels like a 45g board and makes the most pleasant raindrop thock sound when i type on it

I actually have one of the original hhkb that is 20 years old

You dont have to buy a types when you can just open up a regular hhkb and lube it

The reason i don’t really like it for gaming is because there is no left ctrl and it is instead where caps lock should be let’s be real no one uses caps lock on purpose anyway
