It has two modes an uninterrupted orange light which i find a good color for halloween and theres also the flickering flame mode

Arrived without incident and through reading of reviews i understand that in order to get the flame effect you must turn on the light and it was coming on as just a constant light then you would have to turn it off within 15 seconds and flick the switch back on for the bulbs to begin flickering
