We installed these over our newly rebuilt front stairway right before the winter season and they worked out really well in the light snow and ice that we get occasionally in the pnw not to mention the constant rain that makes the painted wood slippery

The nosing design should also slow down the wear and tear on the steps and reduce the overall upkeep as the original wood steps showed extreme wear on the edges

The only thing to note is that the stair edge provides a great grip with some raised metal projections but if you stumble going up the stairs as my toddler has done on a few occasions you may find your shins painfully banged up by that hard metal edge

The yellow also makes the stair edges more visible
