There's just a switch to turn it on and off plus a dial to manually adjust the height of the needle up or down. If you run out of thread you can replace it with a bigger one as you have in the pack a bigger pin to put the thread on.

I had a real sewing machine but i never really used it because it was set up to fix a quick hem or tear in a toy which was too much
