They are not has dark as the picture i ordered pewter mine are a pale grey which goes better in my lounge luckily

As far as black outs not sure about that i have blinds as well so it does not matter so much to me xhopefully you can see from my photo

I agree with the criticisms made by other reviewers theyre not blackout the heading tape is poor quality
