    You also have to tump it upside-down and dump out the contents, which usually gets stuck to the blade and makes a big mess in the way to your coffee maker (or invert the contents into the lid and tap, which also makes a mess).

    This has a spool type design of the more simple grinders, but instead of being exposed (and likely to unwind when you're moving it around and/or get dirty), there's a cover that slides open so you can wind the cord, but then slides back closed to cover it (with a passthrough hole) to lock the cord length in place.

    It's also compact, and the footprint is only marginally larger than my old braun, and smaller than the dead cuisinarts.
