    First of all, the removable grinding chamber is made mostly of plastic, but the bottom of it is lined with metal.

    I don't even have to have the grinder right next to the coffee maker - i stuck the grinder on the counter against the wall, and don't even unplug it.

    I also tried to grind small amounts of grains to add to bread flour, and it worked fine, although i had to run the grinder twice to get fine flour and the bread came out a bit crunchy.
