You can access the units menus on a pc connected on the same network by typing in the units ip address and entering the password but this would only seem to work with internet explorer and not chrome there were times when i needed to connect a monitor to the hdmi output on the nvr to check certain settings

It was certainly a lot easier to connect via the hdmi simply plug and play but i want to keep the unit out of the way in a cupboard so remote access would be for me and i would imagine as lot of people the normal way to connect
