For a standard grip this is not really noticable but if you plan to do gymnastic moves that require a false grip rolling your wrists up above the ring rather than hanging below it the thinner ring is harder to hold

The only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because i ordered the neon green rings but when they arrived they were more like leaf green instead of neon green
