The game mechanics are fairly complex so if this is your first dive into anything other than street fighter or mortal kombat like it was for me youre in for quite a wake up call

Things any fighting game fan will find instantly familiar are character specific special moves but the special moves in this game do anything from setting you up to do another move to changing the properties of consecutive moves

Theres the equivalent of a street fighter style super gauge which guilty gear calls the tension gauge but the biggest difference between the two is once guilty gears tension gauge is full you can unleash a roundending instant kill move but without all the blood and guts of say mortal kombat
