The spotting scope is also annoyingly difficult to seat properly so its aligned with the telescope

It is quite a bulky item and as a result not very portable so unless youve got somewhere nice and dry outside like a shed storage may be an issue mine is currently sat in my garage

Not that many years ago if you wanted optics of any quality then it had to be gerrman and i remember as a little boy my dad screwing these lenses into his exacta camera carl zeiss jena would be emblazoned on the rim

Some cost cutting is apparent on the fine controls which are light and plasticky but to be fair they don’t have a lot of work to do

One little problem was one of the lenses had a blur which when looked through appeared like a crack

Upon unscrewing it as far as i was able i noticed that the lens itself appears to be mounted within a black resin

Some of this had broken off and looked like a ragged crack in the lens

Finally then it boils down to something more simple even than the type of telescope you want and can afford – but if you have the view then this is your telescope
