Pros & Cons
Pros
Overall, very pleased. Correct fit and fast shipping. Creates a nice seal. Hopefully it also helps with drafts.
The windows seal like brand new now and no flapping sound in the wind. It fits into the channel snugly. No more air leak nor ladybugs.
These are great if you have the ability to route a 1/8 dado -- either by using your tablesaw or if you've got a router. Easy to cut with plain scissors or carton knife. Cut a groove all around the door jamb.
Cons
Even if i can manage to get the kerf end installed the bulb part is just a flimsy and not likely to seal anything.
Highlights
Quality
Very nice product and worked better than i had hoped
This was used on 100 yr old windows that had no weather stripping and cut kerf and worked fantastically
That was causing problems with insulation but especially annoying sound when the wind blew with the windows open and the stripping flapped
Many of the 25 year old seals had separated and fell out
Price
Was worth a shot for the price
I did not want to spend 350 for the installation router tool
Shipping
Fast delivery just did not fit where i wanted to use

The stripping between the meeting rails has been failing the bead coming off of the strip that fits into the kerf

Fit was good but noticed the old weatherstripping was foam filled and this is not
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
I’m assuming foam filled would be a better insulator but giving this price a try anyway

In theory you just slide a bit into the kerf and pull it along the window edge
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
In practice it may not work at all
