I could not believe how quick it read the temperature

The one thing it doesnt have that i really look for in a thermometer advertised as a candy thermometer is a way to clip it to the side of a pot

Ive owned other similar digital thermometers in the past but none have had the temperature range that this unit covers

Hold does pretty much what it says when you press the button it holds the current reading on the screen

Well if the thermometer was in a position that was not easily readable say stuck in a turkey in the oven you would press the hold button so that you could read the temperature after its been removed from the bird in order to get a better view

Pressing the hold button again returns the thermometer to its normal operation
