Pros & Cons
Pros
This caulk gun is a great tool that i would recommend to anyone who does a lot of caulking. It’s also good for large outdoor caulking jobs where precision isn’t necessary.
It delivers a slow, but steady push of even the thickest caulks and glues for the job. It has a nice feature that automatically retracts the plunger when you release the trigger. When it retracts to prevent drips, it does so at the fastest speed.
It's built very solidly, easy enough to hold and run along a surface.

The issue i have is that with some products it is very difficult to release the caulk from the tube without applying significant and consistent effort which is particularly true for concrete crack fillers

Some of those products are selfleveling and flow easily but if designed for a vertical application the caulk tends to have a thick consistency that requires enough unrelenting pressure it can quickly lead to hand fatigue

This interrupts the progress of the project and possibly results in an inconsistent application

And depending upon the caulk this wasted product can be pricey

Like most caulk guns there is also an onboard puncture tool for breaking the seal on the tube but there is no mechanism to cut off the end to create an opening

The plunger motor reverses a little bit which releases the pressure and slows and stops the flow quickly

For relatively short trigger pulls it doesnt even retract however at the lowest speed setting you have to dispense for more than 3 seconds before it bothers to retract but at the highest speed holding the trigger for more than 1 second causes it to retract

The bottom line is that this thing simply does not drip for regular caulks and sealants and he’s used it with both latex and rtv silicone over the past month
