It probably doesnt hold the charge as long which is normal on any rechargeable battery

Update i have several of these for about two years now they do work but both the nightlight and the emergency power outage flashlight are quite dim

I think they were brighter when first installed never great but adequate but now pretty dim and while functioning and better than nothing it is disappointing

They seem to last around 4 years before the battery dies and that battery cannot be replaced
