Ive got 3 sizes of the ivory and confirmed what graphtech says that you get a different tone from each thickness

With just a bass and drummer backing you once you have experienced a picking failure you cant tell the number 1 beat from the number 3 beat when you try to get back on track again and thus you end up with occasional 24 measures in your performances of song that had a 44 time signature
