Because the generously sized double silicon baffles to prevent leaking under the rim of the lid are longer more pliant and doubled than are the seals of the others i cannot imagine how the complaining purchasers could be defective its possible of course but i also noticed this possible explanation if you are attempting to lock the xshaped ridges on the seal on top of the while the silicon baffles are wet the entire lid will rotate in place very smoothly and because both it and glass beneath are beautifully monochrome you will not notice it rotating unless you look carefully

I would not turn it upside down in my pocket book but it has veneer leaked unless open even tipped sideways

I do like the concept of this item but had to deduct stars because the lid doesn’t seal on one of them
