Pros & Cons
Pros
This model by gorilla grip looks fine, the component parts rattle a bit when moved. The metals used are top notch and the fittings are excellent. It is very solid and sturdy, and has a good feel to it.
This winged style of opener is probably easiest to use for novices and people without a lot of upper body strength. We own an opener styled similar to this one, but this gorilla wine opener is 100 times better!
It feels strong and heavy (definitely a gorilla! It's like the linebacker version of my wine guy - it's about 20% larger in all dimensions and so much sturdier. It's heavier, which for some people might be a detriment, but i like feeling like my wine ... Read More
Everything about the excellent craftsmanship of this item shows. Its quality is on par with what you may find at a high-end luxury kitchen store or gourmet food store. At nine bucks, this is cheaper than the last one i bought.
Those wing handles make gripping and pulling incredibly easy. The rubbery tips give it a bit of a unique look. The rubberize material on the handles is a nice addition that provides a tad bit more grip.
Cons
Never gripped, just straight destroyed; cork everywhere. The corkscrew just straight turns the cork into tiny little chunks.

It's a high quality product for a great price!
The one i have now is fine, and i thought it was decent quality, but then i got this one.

Price
The price is low, so i won't complain if i get a reasonable amount of use from it.
Packaging/appearance
I have used a blade opener for years, mostly with success, but sometimes it sends the cork down into the bottle.
I find this bottle opener heavy duty and i was able to get my cork out of the bottle very easily.
One easy press and the cork is out of the bottle.
The fatter the spiral, the more cork it has to displace, so the more pressure required to remove cork from the bottle neck.
Competitiveness
The gorilla grip wine opener is a game-changer for wine enthusiasts and casual wine drinkers alike.
The rubberize material on the handles is a nice addition that provides a tad bit more grip.
I can't believe this isn't priced higher.
