I was given this just after i had my son and i couldn’t believe this was such a cult classic i was never read this as a child because i thought it was boring and the illustrations weird

I think for her age group the colours and the pictures are not as attention grabbing as some of the more modern books

Our first copy of this was read and loved so much if was soon destroyed so were onto our second copy

Personally i hate the colours and some descriptions like a bowl of mush and night night nobody
