Start it counterclockwise to set the screws. After it sets turn it clockwise and it will close snug and tight. You need to leave room for stuff to tumble anyway.

Does not speed composting much more than a barrel. Stinks which they advertise it doesn't. Will explore sending the stinky thing back for a refund. They keep humidity in thus making compost smell horrible.

There are two indentations on it but the leverage they provide is virtually non-existent. The wheels on the base appear to be too small because i cannot rotate it. It's hard to roll over because there's no handle.
