Pros

Eliza works as a lady's maid for an aristocratic family in london, england. Eliza’s father, who had no idea of her existence, immediately sends for her and accepts her into his family.

As much as i like her nantucket series, this novel seems to have moved to a new level of maturity. The historical aspect was wonderfully written.

The characters are charming. There are a few twists and turns but overall it went as i thought it would. The ending though….

Cons

The author makes the struggles of the era seem mere footnotes to its successes. The success themselves seem too easily won to be believable. Too many things were not lined up with the period of the gilded age.
